How do I sign up for a WeVideo account?
To sign up for WeVideo, click here and create a new account.
Can I sign up to WeVideo by connecting my other social media accounts to WeVideo?
Sign up by connecting WeVideo to your Google (gmail) account.
What account type should I choose?
Choose the Education tab, and the Free Lite account option. Please note that the free account has a storage limit of 5GB.
Project Setup
How do I create a new project?
To create a new project, hit the Create new project button in the Projects Tab. Add a name to your project - click OK - and your new project will appear under one of your project folders. (see image below)

How do I delete a project or a folder?
To delete a project, choose the project you want deleted and hit the Delete project button* just above the projects column. The same goes for deleting folders.

Importing Media Files
How do I import media files:
To import media files, hit the Import media files button at the top menu in any of the Tabs (Projects, Media files, Account). The Import media files window will allow you to browse through media files on your computer - select file(s) and click Open - and you are ready to upload these files.

Basic Editing
How do I trim video clips in the timeline?
You can trim and cut videos by either using the Split tool located just above the timeline, or by setting in and out points. In and out points are the desired point where you want an inserted clip to begin and end. The in and out point buttons are located right below the preview window.

To adjust the audio level for any clip, use the small black markers on the clip or below the preview window to adjust the audio level.

To mute the whole video track, click on the small arrow next on the Video/Image track at the left sidebar next to the timeline. The “M” button will mute the whole track. (see image below)

You can change the background color by clicking on the Videos tab from the Movie Editor and drag the preferred color to either the effects or graphics track. You can also resize the frame within the preview window.

How can I add transitions to my project timeline?
Transition can only be added to the Video/Image track. To add transitions, drag and drop them in between video/image clips on the timeline from the Transitions Tab.
*If your clips are too short the transitions will not work. To increase or decrease the length of transitions, drag the edges of the transitions in the same way you trim video clips.

What is a “VideoWizard”?
The VideoWizard is an automated way to create videos. This guides you through the selection of clips to use in your video along with transitions and effects. Then the Wizard places your video on the timeline for further editing or export.

What is a “Videowall” - and how can I create one?
A Videowall is when you place up to 25 clips in the same videoframe.
