Project 5: Storyboard
The purpose of this activity is to gain experience with planning an animation. Please complete all steps. You will build your own storyboard using a Storyboard Template from GoogleDocs.
Note: In order to use a template you must be logged into your GoogleDocs account.
Complete the following steps
Before you begin working on your storyboard visit the GO!Animate site you will be using to create your animation to get some ideas for your project.
Windows 7 has a Snipping Tool that will allow you to capture a screen shot of anything on your desktop, like a picture or a section of webpage. Snip a whole window or a rectangular section of the screen. The Snipping Tool is located in Start > All Programs >Accessories. You can use this tool to capture screenshots of your animations in GO!Animate for use in your storyboard (it will save you time having to draw the screens in your storyboard).
You can use Snipping Tool to capture a screen shot, or snip, of any object on your screen, and then annotate, save, or share the image.
Note: In order to use a template you must be logged into your GoogleDocs account.
Complete the following steps
- Develop an idea or concept for an animation.
- Outline the story in 5-10 brief statements
- Develop the storyboard, with a frame for each key frame
- Build Your Own Storyboard using the GoogleDocs template. This is a planning draft, so you need an entry for every frame. Think about the layers of cells you might need and include them. This GoogleDocs template can be accessed here.
